• Part I:

1. What’s your favourite kind of weather?

Since I’m not fond of either the rain or the sun, I prefer cool weather or rather a windy day, it’s sunny but not too hot and there’s no rain.

2. Do you like rain? Why/Why not?

I do like rain but not too much as rain will make the air more cool. However,  it’s quite inconvenient to go outside, and it will lead the rats and insects under the sewer going out of their living area, which is not a good thing.

3. What’s the weather like in your hometown?

In Hồ Chí Minh City, there are only two types of weather, wet and dry. And in the district where I live, the amount of rainy days is rather small, just about more than 2 months on the average 6 to 7 months of the rainy season.

4. Do you prefer dry or wet weather?

Although the wet weather would make the air fairly cool, and I like cool weather, considering the disadvantages it gives that I’ve mentioned before, I prefer the dry weather.

• Part II:

About my favourite weather, as you may have guessed, it is the cool weather. But to be more specific, I favour a cool and sunny day rather than a cool wet day. Which weather is on that day doesn’t affect my schedule so I can’t really give a good answer to the question of what I do during the weather I like. But normally, on a pleasant sunny day, if I don’t have to go to school, I would stay at home and entertain myself by watching videos on the internet, playing video games or reading mangas. I may also hangout with friends at the cafe if I have the chance. Weather is not a factor affecting my mood. It’s what I can do and am doing. Therefore, on a sunny day, I can freely do things that I want to do so I feel happy and try to enjoy every activity I do on this day. This is also the reason why I like cool and sunny weather. Unlike the wet weather which is quite inconvenient for people to go out and work, or play, the sunny weather allows us to work and play comfortably, allowing us more ‘free’ to enjoy our activities. Imagine you participate in an outdoor concert, wedding or just put on your favourite outfit to hangout with friends and on the doorstep, see the rain falling down or strong wind blow away your hairstyle… It is definitely upsetting, isn’t it? 

• Part III:

1. Do you think weather has an influence on people’s mood?

Yes, I do. As I answered in part 2, imagine you had prepared for a hangout, or a date, and at the moment you stepped out the door, the weather was bad, all your hope and joy would immediately go along with your schedule. Your mood will definitely be down. That’s a way I believe weather influences people’s mood.

2. How does the weather influence people’s lives?

In general, bad weather will make people’s activities more inconvenient both indoors and outdoors. Rain can affect the ability to enjoy outdoor activities and may cause the loss of electricity affecting the indoors activities. On scorching hot days, besides outdoor activities, staying inside would be a little more comfortable. In particular, natural disasters such as typhoons and storms will definitely damage people’s lives, turning it upside down by destroying their houses or their way of making a living like crops, cattles and the worst, people might lose their lives.

3. Does air pollution affect the weather?

Certainly, and instead of affecting right away, it affects slowly and has been proved to be extremely harmful as long as it continues. By holding the heat in the atmosphere, air pollution will cause the global temperature to increase, melt down the ice from the poles and make the amount of the sea water rise, taking away the lands. Moreover, air pollution also increases the number of extreme weather events or makes the extreme events worse. 

4. What should we do to solve this problem?

There are many ways to solve this problem but in my general knowledge, for individuals, people can reduce the amount of time they use fossil fuel vehicles and plant more trees. For governments, they should replace the source of providing energy from burning fossil fuel to harness the energy from renewable resources such as solar and wind energy.
